My mission is to see, if we all contribute to this blog, with memories, stories, photos etc of our days spent together at Mosaboni will be inspiration to our future generations, who will have some thing to read and to know of our days spent together. I know most of our friends may not be computer novice, but there children will be, who could get every one connected and could chat with there parents to place there memories.
Few weeks ago, I started by sending MS Xcel file for making a directory of all our friends, known or other wise who were connected with Mosaboni days, and to forward to there friends, but response was not very good, only saying its a good idea etc. My request in those emails was on its receipt was to update or correct there details and to forward to their known friends from their contact list, so that list could move on. But please copy me, so that I could update, keep track and connect every one. But every reply came with an answer its good idea, missing the point of my request to build the directory, how? But when no emails with updated MS Xcel file came back to writer/sender it’s becomes frustrating. Honestly, I do not get frustrated or loose my cool, as I have great patience and thought why not I start this blog.
So let’s start, and give a pull and push with all children (as they are our future) help to make this live. I know we have started Face Book, great way to be in touch. But when you want to place your memories, with photos of your work places, school, parties, clubs, may be Ghatsila Railway station and list can go on and on.
Good wishes to all my friends, there children and lets know what you all have achieved, where are you all, may be married with children, settled etc. Please also let us know your parents full name, which department they worked. As U know, we all in our Indian culture, call them with surnames and when two surnames are similar, its become a problem to connect, hope you all appreciate, while writing and contributing on my blog.
We are settled here in Auckland, New Zealand, any one wants to come here on holiday, do not forget to drop us a line, our doors are open for a great welcome. On the same note I can let you know my class mate from ISM, Dhanbad was connected on my search after 27Yrs of our passing out. But when his son and his wife came for a honey moon, it was great pleasure for us to host them. His children could not realize what ISM traditions were, and how there parents felt it, when there children are away, but were in safe hands.
So let me take you on my trip down the lane, in my next blog. Any one, who has a problem, may be in touch with me on email, if you want to know more about me and my family.

Dear Uncle, You probably know my father, Dr. S. Ramarathnam, who was a geologist in Mosaboni Mines and later Rakha Copper Project. Sadly he passed away four years back, but my mother, Padma, is in Bangalore.
I can understand your frustration about not being able to get people to update an excel sheet- I tried something similar with my classmates a few years back, and eventually gave up. What may work better is to upload the file as a google document, so people can update it online. That way, the ownership if more, because everyone has access to all the names on the database forever. If you like, I can help you with this- drop me a line at nuts246 at gmail dot com
Dear Rayna,
Its very nice to hear from you, especially while you wrote of our great friend Dr. S. Ramarathnam, but sadly I have to send my condolences, first.
Please accept our condolences, and may God rest his soul in peace. We will sadly miss him.
As I am writing you, we also lost one more great friend, D K Sen in Calcutta who even happen to visit me while we were in Zambia.
Yes we do remember him and your family. I used to have almost regular contacts with him, S K Patnaik, O P Sharma, and others while I was working in Planning Department.
I have sent you email with your suggestion about document is also done.
You may some photos about Mosaboni, do post it, lets see, how it works out.
